Council Tax, Phone line and other such stuff.

Had a real eye opener today- I'm down to single digits when it comes to the number of days left to actually teach at school. In a way I think I'm relieved, all the Education changes going on is already quite stressful and I don't have to deal with them. I'm fairly reconciled to reading about them on my iPad whilst sipping a long drink lounging in a hammock in the shade somewhere. Maybe Mr Gove needs a trip to Trini to chill him out- what do you think?

The service companies  must have enormous phone bills. I've spent the last hour and a half trying to get hold of people to tell them we're moving. After spending 20mins attached to a 0800 number I was told to read the meter the day I leave and then call again. Why wasn't that on the website?

BT came up trumps, but only after extensive searching. Found great advice on Moneysavingexpert.com. Thanks to some wise person's post on that site,  I  sent them an email and they rang me less than 10minutes later. The fact that it was a call centre in India was irrelevant, they called and I cancelled. Wonder how much it did cost to make that call all the way from India?

Today we also had new carpets fitted in a few rooms. David is pretending to have a bad neck so that he doesn't have to hoover up all the fluff. What he doesn't know is that the fluff keeps on coming. A bit like this blog...

  1. Thanks Kerry - sorry to leave you with all the cool jobs to do. Hopefully in Trini this will all be setup for you...phone, electric, internet..and the hammock with a sipper, straw and ice.
