Antigua and Montserrat

Last week we had 5 wonderful days in Antigua and Montserrat. We stayed at a very nice hotel. The weather was beautiful, the people friendly and the food good.
Kerry enjoying the sea, sand and sun
We also enjoyed a boat ride and eco-tour, the highlight was to swim to an offshore island, go through a cave and walk across a natural stone bridge. Everyone survived.

Hells gate and back - the Captain has been there, done that (many times) and has the T-shirt to prove it.

Climbing over hells gate
Montserrat was quite a different visit, much of the capital Plymouth has been destroyed. Very few people still live there and as the volcano was still active ( 2 on a 5 point scale ) and issuing 250 tons of H2S per day we were only able to view it from a distance.

Destruction of Plymouth - a modern day Pompeii
Graham surveys the volcano - geological heaven - rock recycling at it's best.
